வகைதெரிவான் கட்டே உலகு
விளக்கம்
சுவை ஒளி ஊறு ஓசை நாற்றம் என்று சொல்லப்படும் ஐந்தன் வகைகளையும் ஆராய்ந்து அறிய வல்லவனுடைய அறிவில் உள்ளது உலகம்.

சுவை – ருசி; நாவின் உணர்வு
ஒளி – பார்வை; கண்களின் உணர்வு
ஊறு – தீண்டல்; உடலின் உணர்வு
ஓசை – ஒலி; காதுகளின் உணர்வு
நாற்றம் – மணம்; மூக்கின் உணர்வு
என – ஆகிய
ஐந்தின் – ஐந்து உணர்வுகளின்
வகை – தன்மை

Taste, light, touch, sound, and smell: who knows the way
Of all the five,- the world submissive owns his sway
Explanation
The world is within the knowledge of him who knows the properties of taste, sight, touch, hearing and smell.
